Sketching and drawing are the two ways Edna expresses herself for a time. She has some talent, and uses her time in the pigeon house to develop it. Her art is important because she is finally doing something that she wants to do. This is one of her passions, and no one can tell her to stop. This is her outlet, in many ways like music is Madame Reisz’s.
